The painkillers block the buildup inflammatory hormone of the body called prostaglandin series 2. When there is an inflammatory response, the body takes a fat called arachidonic acid. Is converted into what is called prostaglandin series 2, which leads to inflammation. Prescription and over the counter drugs are basically blocking the enzyme that allows that to occur this enzyme is called cyclooxygenase. Though they have a very good anti-inflammatory effect, they are also so powerful that there are some unintended side-effects, and as you know and if taken over a long period of time at a high enough dosage than side effect start to occur.


Originally, we believe that major risks of side effects were primarily just stomach irritation. Many people can get stomach aches when they take drugs, leading to erosion, ulceration and even bleeding in the intestine tract. More recently, we have seen other health concerns. As in a recent review paper called cause For concerns, in the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, in the community population-based study by Dr. Robert J. Adams and followers, posted on September 27, 2011 in the biomedical journal called, Family Practice. The review showing that these drugs have been shown to cause a lot of gastrointestinal irritation and ulceration.


In fact 10,000 to 20,000 people die every year in United States due to internal bleeding as a result of the ingestion of these anti-inflammatory drugs. Unfortunately, this information is not widely known. You can see now that side-effects from these drugs are also leading to chronic heart failure which is another common cause of death.


It is also causing cardiovascular death in people who were not previously at risk for cardiovascular diseases. It is also discovered that it can also cause blood pressure. Pain killers could also lead to liver damage and kindly failure. Actaminophen in particular causes a great deal of liver damage and kidney damage. Kidney damages lead for the need of dialysis later in life and even kidney transplant.

You have to avoid things happen to you, so take least amount of pain killers. This is where diet supplement come in because they can reduce inflammation and pain, certainly without added toxicity.

A lot a rheumatologist, family doctors and orthopedic surgeons does not explain to their patient what dietary, supplements and best exercises someone can implement in order to reduce inflammatory diseases. It is very unfortunate because these things can make a big difference in reducing reliance on some of these prescriptions anti-inflammatory, which can have bad side effects.painkillers-infographic
